I am hosting a Rebe Sample Sale at my home on Tuesday, September 14th from 5:00pm-8:00pm. There will be wine and yummy treats along with Rebe clothes at nearly wholesale prices! I will have my new prints, dolls, and mobiles for sale as well! Friends are welcome and we hope to see you all there!

San Francisco Renegade Craft Fair

Mom and I had such a wonderful time selling at San Francisco Renegade Craft Fair. Thanks to all of you who stopped by. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! Rebe did amazing and I nearly sold out of my newest hand colored etchings. Here are some pictures of our booth and Agnes playing with gods-eye mobiles.

Adam, Erika, & Agnes' road trip

My cousins Adam, Erika, and Agnes are driving from Grand Rapids, Michigan to California for a visit. I can't wait to see them in San Francisco next weekend. Here is a picture from their journey. What fun!

Stretched embroideries & dolls

Here are some of my fabric hand-embroidered dolls and two new stretched embroideries I just finished. I think they make a nice pair. The stretched embroideries are very joyful and they feel like small garden moments. I will have all these goodies for sale at the San Francisco Renegade Craft Fair next weekend! You can also shop the dolls online at my shop.

I am flying home to LA tomorrow. I can't wait to see my family, I am so excited! I haven't been home since Christmas. I will try and take pictures of my trip to post...although I am sometimes over excited and forget to take any.

M.Style

Here is some old press for A Silent Hymn, a book Matt and I made together in 2007. It was featured in M. Style, a Chinese design magazine. I got excited when I stumbled across this and wanted to share. I hope they said nice things about it...we were excited none the less.

More felt goods...

Here are a few of the new ribbons I made for Pile of Craft, they are a bit like merit badges. Each ribbon is made from 100% wool felt from Japan and has a tiny embroidered scene. I like to think of them as a special gift you give someone you love when you are most proud of them.

Pile of Craft

Annika and I so enjoyed Pile of Craft that we wish it could have gone on longer...even though it was quite hot. We did amazing! Thanks so much to everyone who came by. We enjoyed seeing and meeting each and every one of you and we hope you continue to follow us in our handmade pursuits.

Make sure to check back often to find out what other upcoming craft shows we are participating in. We hope to do Bazaart at the American Visionary Craft Museum, Holiday Heap, and maybe the MICA Art Market. I am also going to be selling with Rebe at the Renegade Craft Festival in both San Francisco (July 31-August 1) and Chicago (September 11th-12th) this year! I am so excited to keep busy.

In the Studio

Matthew is teaching himself how to make videos. He made this one of me. I think I'm always his subject due to proximity.

We also spent the last two weeks organizing and building new furniture for the studio. I have a lovely new sewing table now that is the perfect height for my sewing machine. We also built a huge bookshelf for the office. We have yet to decide how to paint or stain it. I never knew how visually unexciting office supplies were until they were sitting on a nice shelf. I'm so pleased that we finally have a place to hang our piece by Christine Herz.

Go go garden

Another picture of Matt's garden! I love visiting the garden because it is always in process. There are always new things growing and dying, different pests to watch out for and a never ending list of wonderful vegetables to plant next.

Garden times

New pictures of Matthew's garden and his delicious chioggia beets. We ate them last night and they were wonderful! I helped him pick weeds for six hours and it made my fingers hurt.

New Prints!

I just finished two new hand-colored etchings. I feel really excited about the one with all the small scenes. I'll have them for sale, along with my dolls and other objects at Pile of Craft on June 26th.

Printing

Here's a picture of my very first dolls and mobile. I think my favorite place to hang a mobile is above a bed.

I've spent all weekend printing more Farmscape etchings to sell at Pile of Craft. I am also printing a series of three new etchings. I will post pictures shortly.

Other exciting news...Matt is working on building a new bookshelf as well as making me a sewing table with little built in shelves for the studio. I can't wait until it is all finished!

In the studio...

I've been learning some new stitches and made myself a sampler book. I'm also working on some new horses and objects for mobiles.

Sheep and Wool Festival

Matt and I visited the Sheep and Wool Festival for the first time. It was so exciting and we saw lots of beautiful yarn. We both want a sheep more than ever.
