Since mom and I couldn't make it out to do the San Francisco Renegade Craft Fair this holiday, my sisters and I did a photoshoot yesterday featuring many wonderful new pieces by Rebe for Specks & Keepings. My youngest sister Malaika did a beautiful job modeling. Check back in the shop soon to see all the beautiful new things!

p.s. If you are in the Los Angeles area and are looking for an excellent model, Malaika is looking to build her portfolio. You can contact her via email as well, malaikakarin@gmail.com.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. Christmas felt a bit different this year for my family. My grandpa was in the hospital, but he seems to be doing a bit better each day, so we have lots to be thankful for. We ran out of time to get a Christmas tree, which has never happened before, but it was joyful just being together.
Nice to imagine a home like this, from Fine Little Day.
I love these sculptures by Adam Wolpa. Found them at KOTOA, this is one of my favorite blogs.

I apologize as I have been absent for a while. I am with my family and for the past week we have been caring for my sick grandfather. We thank God as he is starting to do a bit better each day. We welcome prayers for a speedy recovery and good health and are thankful for all those who have been thinking of us.

With that said, my mom and I were so sad to have missed the Renegade Craft Fair in San Francisco this past weekend. For those of you who went looking for Rebe's new goods as well as my new work, please feel free to email us. If there is enough demand and we can find a place that will host us, we would love to bring our new inventory up to you! Please let us know what you think...we would need enough turnout to make it worth while, but we do have so many beautiful things made in the studio.

With the bit of free time I have this morning, I thought I would also share these wonderful paintings by Barbara Campbell Thomas.

From The Golden Smith and Jazmin Berakha. These remind me of very small things I draw. I think the top object would fit in your palm, so nice.

This blog has lots of beautiful images and crafts, XuXudidi et plus encore. Also visit the shop.
I went blog cave exploring and ended up with these...

I am absolutely overwhelmed by how wonderful this Japanese shop is. It is called KAPITAL and they have the most beautiful socks I have ever seen. I would like to make drawings of the way their products are laid out on the page. Visit their blog as well.

Top image via here, next image via papeis por todo o lado. I found both of these on this exciting tumbler, batixa.

Welcome & thank you.

Images via La Casita De Wendy and here.

I am so thankful for all of you who visit my blog. I was very excited this morning to see that I now have 100 followers! Thank you all.

Holiday Heap was wonderful! Annika and I had a lovely display of all our new goodies and we so enjoyed seeing old friends and making new ones at the show. We also seem to have many returning customers and we just want to thank you for all being so special and for always coming out to see us! We so enjoy visits with you, although short, over a table full of stuff each and every year. I will post pictures of our table soon.

On another note, I was so happy to see the stockings I made for my cousins and god daughter looking so well loved in their beautiful and festive home. See here. I have two stocking left from last years collection, if you are interested in purchasing one, just send me an email at info@specksandkeepings.com.

My friend Andrew Neyer is so amazing. He seems to get more done in a short amount of time than anyone I know. He also does things very well. Among many other things, Andrew runs a wonderful gallery called YES in Cincinnati, Ohio. YES will be doing Holiday How-To's at Madewell next Wednesday, December 7th from 6-8PM. If you're in the area, you should check it out!

I liked this image I found when browsing Erika Olson's blog FOX AND OWL. Erika makes really amazing stuffed animals and she has a sweet vintage shop as well. In Baltimore we have dragon peddle boats but they are not nearly as nice as these swans.
I just discovered Scout Holiday, a wonderful blog on fashion and other great things. Here are some things I enjoyed...

I was also excited to find this post on Peter Shire. He makes wonderful ceramics. I bought one of his mugs during my last visit home.

Pretty things from La Casita Wendy.

I spent way too much time on Facebook this afternoon while the little one napped. I don't like when I do that, but I did come across this photograph of my friend Katherine Fahey in this wonderful bathroom.

Annika, Eleanor & the hat at ladies night.

Check out Annika's sweet watch bracelets at Holiday Heap this Saturday. We'll both be selling our new wares and we'd love to see you. We are booth #41, in the back room.
