Textiles

I met Sara and her husband in Philly last weekend. She designs and prints her own textiles in rural Georgia, which she then makes into lovely home goods. I got a set of her flying geese napkins. I can't wait to use them. I found these nice pictures of her studio on her blog. Do check out her shop.

As for today....Matt and I are painting the front room white. It will be nice to have fresh white walls in there after the mustard yellow we've lived with for so long.

nooks

Lovely moments and nooks found on this nice blog, Vardag, an intimate visual diary.

I often want to take more photos of my own home, but I don't often find my own space very exciting. Perhaps this is because I am too well acquainted with it or maybe it's because it's not very good yet. I sometimes forget that a home is a collection of practical goods, things we need, use, find, keep, and hopefully love. It is a living space that changes and grows over time, or maybe we just change in it. My home is comfortable but not beautiful, maybe one day it will be both.

Good morning

Liked this off center white rectangular field with bits of colored clusters this morning from here. Mom is flying back home to LA today, it's always a bit hard to say goodbye even thought I will visit her in July. We had a lovely weekend together.

Philadelphia times

Mom and I had a wonderful weekend in Philadelphia. We met such lovely people at Art Star Craft Bazaar and sold lots of goods! We had rain on Saturday, which dampened everyone's spirits for a bit, but Sunday was beautiful and lots of people stopped by to visit and shop.

We stayed with nice friends, made a few new furry friends, ate delicious homemade sushi, and had a wonderful time. We hope to do the show again next year and I plan to spend more time in Philly as it seems like a wonderful city; it's small like Baltimore, but with more activity.

I met Melissa and her small baby at the show. Above is a picture of their new Rock Story Mobile hanging in the little one's room. Thank you for sharing this with me Melissa, it's so sweet. I will post more pictures from our weekend soon. I also met Lydia Trott at the show and she was kind enough to send along the photo above with the her new rock story mobile hanging beside her lovely basket on the wall. Lydia is a talented weaver, she makes very beautiful rugs. I especially love this one.

Happy Spring

Erika sent this picture of Suki today. It brightened my day. Suki is growing up to be such a lovely girl and I hope I get to see her soon. I miss them all so much. How nice it is to be a small girl...
